Chants for Processions and Benedictions of the Most Blessed Sacrament, 1927 Fischer Edition. Latin title of the book: Cantus ad Processiones et Benedictiones SSMI Sacramenti.

This handy compilation from the Liber Usualis features chants used for various liturgical processions and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. The index pages give the complete contents of this valuable book which has been reprinted as an economical, convenient and lightweight saddle-stitch softcover edition that lays open flat.

As described on the introductory page:

We have collected in this volume the ‘Hymns for Processions’ and for ‘Benediction with the Most Blessed Sacrament.’

In arranging the latter we have followed the order generally observed in most churches—viz:

  • Hymns in honor of the Most Blessed Sacrament.
  • Hymns for the various seasons of the year.
  • Hymns in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Then follow the oration “Pro Papa”—Tantum ergo and the hymns which it is customary to sing after benediction.

The liturgical hymns for the Processions of the Most Blessed Sacrament and of the Blessed Virgin Mary as well as of the three Rogation Days and the chants for the Procession to the Cemetery will be found towards the end of the volume, in a separate booklet, as it were.
