Our Father Ten Hail Marys Glory Be Fatima Prayer

The Baptism of Jesus in the Jordan

The Baptism of our Lord in the Jordan
The Baptism of our Lord in the Jordan

Our Father …

1. In due course John the Baptist appeared; he preached in the wilderness of Judaea and this was his message: ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is close at hand’.
Hail Mary …

2. This was the man the prophet Isaiah spoke of when he said: A voice cries in the wilderness: prepare a way for the Lord, make his paths straight.
Hail Mary …

3. This man John wore a garment made of camel-hair with a leather belt round his waist, and his food was locusts and wild honey.
Hail Mary …

4. Then Jerusalem and all Judaea and the whole Jordan district made their way to him, and as they were baptised by him in the river Jordan they confessed their sins.
Hail Mary …

5. But when he saw a number of Pharisees and Sadducees coming for baptism he said to them, ‘Brood of vipers, who warned you to fly from the retribution that is coming?
Hail Mary …

6. But if you are repentant, produce the appropriate fruit, and do not presume to tell yourselves, “We have Abraham for our father”, because, I tell you, God can raise children for Abraham from these stones. Even now the axe is laid to the roots of the trees, so that any tree which fails to produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown on the fire.
Hail Mary …

7. I baptise you in water for repentance, but the one who follows me is more powerful than I am, and I am not fit to carry his sandals; he will baptise you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
Hail Mary …

8. His winnowing-fan is in his hand; he will clear his threshing-floor and gather his wheat into the barn; but the chaff he will burn in a fire that will never go out.’
Hail Mary …

9. Then Jesus appeared: he came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptised by John. John tried to dissuade him. ‘It is I who need baptism from you’ he said ‘and yet you come to me!’ But Jesus replied, ‘Leave it like this for the time being; it is fitting that we should, in this way, do all that righteousness demands’. At this, John gave in to him.
Hail Mary …

10. As soon as Jesus was baptised he came up from the water, and suddenly the heavens opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming down on him. And a voice spoke from heaven, ‘This is my Son, the Beloved; my favour rests on him’.
Hail Mary …

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Oh, my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell and lead all souls to heaven especially those who are in most need of thy mercy.

The Wedding Feast at Kana

The Wedding Feast at Kana
The Wedding Feast at Kana

Our Father …

1. Three days later there was a wedding at Cana in Galilee. The mother of Jesus was there, and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited.
Hail Mary …

2. When they ran out of wine, since the wine provided for the wedding was all finished, the mother of Jesus said to him, ‘They have no wine”.
Hail Mary …

3. Jesus said, ‘Woman, why turn to me? My hour has not come yet.’
Hail Mary …

4. His mother said to the servants, ‘Do whatever he tells you’.
Hail Mary …

5. There were six stone water jars standing there, meant for the ablutions that are customary among the Jews: each could hold twenty or thirty gallons.
Hail Mary …

6. Jesus said to the servants, ‘Fill the jars with water’, and they filled them to the brim.
Hail Mary …

7. ‘Draw some out now’ he told them ‘and take it to the steward.’
Hail Mary …

8. They did this; the steward tasted the water, and it had turned into wine.
Hail Mary …

9. Having no idea where it came from – only the servants who had drawn the water knew – the steward called the bridegroom and said, ‘People generally serve the best wine first, and keep the cheaper sort till the guests have had plenty to drink; but you have kept the best wine till now’.
Hail Mary ….

10. This was the first of the signs given by Jesus: it was given at Cana in Galilee. He let his glory be seen, and his disciples believed in him. After this he went down to Capernaum with his mother and the brothers, but they stayed there only a few days.

Jesus proclaims the coming of the kingdom of God

Kingdom-of-GodThen Jesus told them this parable: “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders 6and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.
(St. Luke 15: 3-7)

The Transfiguration

TransfigurationOur Father …

1. Jesus took with him Peter and James and his brother John and led them up a high mountain where they could be alone.
Hail Mary …

2. There in their presence he was transfigured: his face shone like the sun and his clothes became as white as the light.
Hail Mary …

3. Suddenly Moses and Elijah appeared to them; they were talking with him.
Hail Mary …

4. Then Peter spoke to Jesus, ‘Lord,’ he said ‘it is wonderful for us to be here; if you wish, I will make three tents here, one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.’
Hail Mary …

5. He was still speaking when suddenly a bright cloud covered them with shadow.
Hail Mary …

6. From the cloud there came a voice which said, ‘This is my Son; the Beloved; he enjoys my favour. Listen to him.’
Hail Mary …

7. When they heard this, the disciples fell on their faces, overcome with fear.
Hail Mary …

8. But Jesus came up and touched them. ‘Stand up,’ he said ‘do not be afraid.’
Hail Mary …

9. And when they raised their eyes they saw no one but only Jesus.
Hail Mary …

10. As they came down from the mountain Jesus gave them this order, ‘Tell no one about the vision until the Son of Man has risen from the dead.’

 The Institution of the Eucharist

TheLastSupperOur Father …

1. When evening came he was at table with the twelve disciples. And while they were eating he said, ‘I tell you solemnly, one of you is about to betray me’.
Hail Mary …

2. They were greatly distressed and started asking him in turn, ‘Not I, Lord, surely?’
Hail Mary …

3. He answered, ‘Someone who has dipped his hand into the dish with me, will betray me.
Hail Mary …

4. The Son of Man is going to his fate, as the scriptures say he will, but alas for that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! Better for that man if he had never been born!’
Hail Mary …

5. Judas, who was to betray him, asked in his turn, “Not I, Rabbi, surely?’ ‘They are your own words’ answered Jesus.
Hail Mary …

6. Now as they were eating, Jesus took some bread, and when he had said the blessing he broke it and gave it to the disciples.
Hail Mary …

7. ‘Take it and eat;’ he said ‘this is my body.’
Hail Mary …

8. Then he took a cup, and when he had returned thanks he gave it to them.
Hail Mary …

9. ‘Drink all of you from this,’ he said ‘for this is my blood, the blood of the covenant, which is to be poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
Hail Mary …

10. From now on, I tell you, I shall not drink wine until the day I drink the new wine with you in the kingdom of my Father.’
